Back in March, Muswell Hill Creatives won free event space to host events at the Hornsey Town Hall in Crouch End as part of their A Hall for All initiative.

The Hornsey Town Hall is a stunning Grade II* listed art-deco building in the heart of Crouch End, recently restored as a home for contemporary culture, creativity and community.

Built in 1933, it is one of the earliest examples of modernist civic architecture in the UK, designed by architect Reginald Uren, following an international design competition held by the Hornsey Borough Council.

In the early days of Muswell Hill Creatives, before the HTH's closure for restoration, it was home to much-loved and missed studios for MHC members Michele Wyckoff Smith and alumni member Shelley Zetuni.

We also held an exhibition and pop up in the former Ply Gallery which is now where the apartment hotel is situated.

The first in our programme of events is a Storytelling & Branding Workshop in the Council Chamber on 9 June.

Creatives are invited to join an inspiring session with MHC, creative business expert Patricia van den Akker of The Design Trust and leading product photographer, Yeshen Venema. A brilliant opportunity to connect with fellow local creatives as well as taking a tour of the HTH.

Tickets cost £29.

FOR THE COMMUNITY

Later in the year, we'll be hosting two fantastic creative events for all to visit in the beautiful Assembly Hall.

Make and Mend Festival - Saturday 17 October

MHC @ HTH Winter Makers Market - Saturday 5 December   (Date has changed from Sunday 6 December)

On Saturday 17 October, the Hall will be alive with crafts workshops and a makers sale at our annual Make and Mend Festival.

This creative gathering first took place in Muswell Hill back in 2022 and has been a popular fixture ever since. We're delighted to bring it to Crouch End in a bigger space.
We will be holding a Winter Makers Market in the Assembly Hall on Saturday 5 December* where we will be inviting independent artists, designers and makers and local artisans to fill the room with great gifts and goods to shop for.

*Change in date. Sunday 6 December was previously advertised.
With thanks to Hornsey Town Hall and General People for hosting us.

If you are interested in running a crafts workshop or selling at our October and December events, please email: [email protected]

We look forward to bringing creativity to this much-loved and iconic space in the heart of Crouch End.
