Karen Topp

Karen is a French-born painter, printmaker and mixed-media artist established in London. She lives and works in Muswell Hill, North London.
 
Her work examines the relationship between making and material, with a focus on repetition, rhythm, and the tactile qualities that come from exploring different surfaces. She is interested in how her body and artmaking materials respond to each other—showing tension, release, and unexpected visual results.
 
Her work has evolved organically from painting into mixed media, printmaking, textiles, and working with found materials. She often starts by focusing on small details, building new works around these fragments.  
 
Karen’s work is held in private collections across the UK and abroad, including New Zealand and Hong Kong.
