Emmanuel Tomking - Kreol Kreatif
Growing up on the tropical islands of the Seychelles, Emmanuel was surrounded by wonderful woodland which helped him discover and appreciate the value of wood - both its contribution to our environment and the uniqueness of its natural artistic presentation.
Emmanuel first learnt turning techniques during a mechanical engineering course in the Seychelles, then started creating wood turned items about 14 years ago for family and friends in his small garden shed in Southgate, North London. He progressed his techniques and learnt to identify and highlight the colour, grains and textures of the materials he worked with. The products of Kreol Kreatif are individual and eye-catching and includes decorative and functional pieces. Each item is mainly crafted from salvaged wood, sometimes enhanced with resin, and makes use of local resources. This ensures that every piece is unique and sustainable. Emmanuel also creates or upcycles pieces on commission. Email Emmanuel here Instagram: @kreol_kreatif_woodturner |
