Christmas Pop Up - December 2019
Muswell Hill has a strong history of thriving independent shops, cafes and restaurants and there is a new arrival just in time for Christmas. Ian and Alex Chalom, the owners of independent restaurant Aleion on Muswell Hill Broadway announce the opening a NEW homeware boutique in downstairs basement.
As a couple who really support and appreciate locally hand designed and made, Alex and Ian invited artists, designers and makers from the Muswell Hill Creatives collective to share the new shop space with them throughout December 2019.
Alongside Aleion’s selection of homewares, Muswell Hill Creatives children’s shoes, contemporary jewellery, knitwear, ceramics, art, stationery, leather goods and woven and Japanese textiles were on sale. All products for sale show the collective’s passion for the highest quality craftsmanship.

Ian Chalom comments: "We opened Aleion in 2017 having lived in Muswell Hill for a while and absolutely loving the area, the village-y vibe and a real community spirit. We know that local residents really understand the value of buying from independent makers, so we were thrilled to be able to offer the very talented Muswell Hill Creatives a home before Christmas. We are very much looking forward to welcoming customers along for a brunch, lunch, dinner and some Christmas shopping."
Rachael Booth-Clibborn, Muswell Hill Creatives, adds: “We have recently celebrated our fifth anniversary as a collective which was a real milestone for us. We hold outdoor markets four times a year in Muswell Hill but are often asked where our products can be purchased at other times particularly over the festive period. A couple of our members have products stocked in local shops but jumped at the invitation from Ian and Alex to have a space of our own for a whole month.”
